Description
For auction is an adorable vase made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is more commonly known as a Blue Aurene "Mini Stick" or "Mini Bud" vase. This beautiful vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 6 1/4" Tall and the top of the stick has a diameter of 5/8" outside measurement. The Round Foot has a diameter of 2 5/16".The vase displays a very strong Blue Aurene, Favrile iridescence that only Steuben is known for. It has a brilliant blue mirrored metallic appearance, yet it is glass. There are wonderful strong hues of fuchsia mixed with gold iridescence especially on the surface of the foot. The underside bottom of this is simply outstanding!! It displays some of the strong blue/purple w gold iridescence. This was Frederick Carder at his best! The round hollow tall cylindrical stick form is mounted to a round platform or foot. They are fused together to appear as only one piece was blown yet it is actually a two part vase.
The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, or dings. The tops of this vase is polished and smooth. This one shows a tiny flea bite as was done in the making. The vase shows some signs of use by the handful of scratches on the bottom.
The vase is signed on the bottom with the engraved "Aurene" mark along with the shape number "2556" as shown in the Steuben catalog. This is a quality piece of art glass and will enhance any art glass collection. Those of you who collect Aurene Stick vases and want a nice, example don't let this pass you by.
I have been dealing in Steuben for some 47+ years. I have had only a few of these mini stick vases in all those years. This piece was made circa 1905-1920 during the Frederick Carder years.

I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July of this year 2020.
I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments
. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the
merchandise
unless it is paid for.
They are also n
ow charging all sellers a commission of 11.5% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 11.5%. This is an increase of 8.6% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 11.5% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges.
If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
