Arctic Ice Hunter
of legendary fame.  A heavy fire polished cut and angled crystal ice floe magnifies and refracts the light into a rainbow pattern.  Through an arch in the ice floe a kayaker  fisherman finds his way (all of solid cast sterling silver.)  Below the ice an unwary seal (painstakingly copper wheel engraved by hand) swims in the crystal clear water.  An early creation of the famed Steuben designer, writer and outdoorsman, the late James Houston*, a rare find

Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903. Recognized as the world's foremost artisan glass house, Steuben glass was hand made by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY.  Steuben glass was frequently the United States’ gift of State to foreign dignitaries. Steuben marketed no “seconds”. Items that did not meet their exacting production standards were destroyed by being smashed in a bin. Steuben, a recognized luxury brand and the ultimate in art glass.
