I have set a very fair price for this rare wonderful Steuben sculpture in it's original leather masterwork's box. *As with all Steuben masterwork's, having the correct original fitted box is important to insure safe shipment. Recently other eBay sellers have tried to substitute a red box from a different work or a basic unfitted cardboard Steuben box that is wrong for the design and weight of the piece. Or they take a photo against a red background to imitate the missing box. Incorrect materials often result in a poor shipping outcome. Collectors and those seeking to maintain value in the work look for the complete proper presentation case.
Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903. Recognized as the world's foremost artisan glass house, Steuben glass was hand made by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY. Steuben glass was frequently the United States’ gift of State to foreign dignitaries. Steuben marketed no “seconds”. Items that did not meet their exacting production standards were destroyed by being smashed in a bin. Steuben, a recognized luxury brand and the ultimate in art glass.
