    BUBBLE EGG on pedestal stand
    Eric Hilton design 1976
Consider this very rare red box Steuben jewel-like signed
Bubble Egg on a Pedestal sculpture
perfect for the special birthday, anniversary or for the collector.
The egg is the symbol of life, renewal, new beginnings.
This very detailed hand made design by Eric Hilton resembles a Russian Laquered or Fabergé Egg.  A large ovoid bubble is mouth blown into the purest smooth crystal form suggesting the mystery of life. Light radiates throughout this sculpture.
Mr. Hilton designed most of the rare 18k gold and copper wheel engraved jewelry for Steuben, as well as much of the special commission work and trophies that they did for corporate clients and world sporting events. He is the designer of the famous sculpture
    Innerland
which has center stage at the Corning Museum of Glass. His glass sculptures appear in museums around the world including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Arts Decoratif, Paris and Lausanne, Switzerland, Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, Japan and the Renwick Gallery, Washington DC and others.
    This vintage design is
NEW in vintage Red leather BOX,
    with
no chips, no cracks, no scuffs and no scratches.
The Egg measures just over 4" tall by 3" wide and rests on a brushed silver/aluminum ring stand (overall height 5".) It is signed with the Steuben "S" on the bottom, the mark used on items to be unobtrusive. The vintage red leather box is in excellent gift worthy condition free of tears, stains or nicotene or mildew odors etc.
Steuben was noted for their rigorous attention to detail and for the high quality of their glass. They stated in their literature that they did not market "seconds". In fact, they noted that such pieces were destroyed in house. Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903 and was located in the Fingerlakes Region of New York State. By following strict standards for design and manufacture they achieved recognition as the world's premier glassworks. Steuben Glass was frequently the gift of state by US Presidents to foreign dignitaries. Steuben, a recognized luxury brand. Because of these factors, a well maintained/handmade Steuben collectible will increase in value over time.
A fair price for a complex and detailed vintage red box Steuben masterwork in show room condition.  You will be very pleased.
