CUPOLA with 18K GOLD HORSESigned
Steuben
James Houston design 1967
Consider this rarely offered Steuben treasure, a signed classic new in vintage red leather box
Cupola with 18k golden horse weathervane.
A beautiful gift for someone you cherish or for your own collection.
A heavy fire polished cut and angled column topped with a shingled like textured crystal roof is surmounted with an exquisitely detailed 18K marked gold flying stallion weathervane. The Steuben Glass magnifies and refracts the light into a rainbow pattern. This is an early creation of the famed Steuben designer, writer and outdoorsman, the late James Houston--renown for such works as Excalibur, Arctic Fisherman, Arctic Ice Bear, Eagle on Globe, Trumpeting Elephant and many others.
At approx. 8 inches tall by 4 inches wide and approx. 4lbs, the Steuben Cupola is crystal clear with
no chips, no nicks, no scratches or signs
of use to the glass, no damage to the highly detailed 18k gold horse weathervane and no display wear on the bottom
. The crystal is fully signed "steuben" on the bottom in script. The 18k Gold is marked "18k" and "S" (very tiny and hard to see) on the top of one of the direction letters.
This will be packed in it's original correct sound condition vintage red leather fitted box with some wear to the leather but no nicotine or mildew odors. This will be set into a larger sturdy box for safety, with

to lower US 48 States. The winning bidder will be thrilled with this beautiful work of art.
I have set a very fair price for this wonderful Steuben masterwork with 18k Gold embellishment rarely found in this new in original box scratch free condition.
Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903. Recognized as the world's foremost artisan glass house, Steuben glass was hand made by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY. Steuben glass was frequently the United States’ gift of State to foreign dignitaries. Steuben marketed no “seconds”. Items that did not meet their exacting production standards were destroyed by being smashed in a bin. Steuben, a recognized luxury brand and the ultimate in art glass.
