or your own collection.  This clever detailed design was only made for a brief period of time so like the mole it is seldom seen.
This beautiful sculpture has the superb styling and clarity that is a hallmark of Steuben. This heavy mouth blown and hand polished figurine measures approx. 6" long by 4" tall with beautiful clarity and refraction of light and approx. 4lbs weight.  This is a detailed large hand made sculpture with indented stylized facial features, eyes, paws, tail and is a very complex design to produce at 2300 degrees F.  This piece is
new in box with no chips, no cracks, no scratches, no damage and NO display or base bottom wear.
A pair of 18k gold spectacles complete the design.
Mr. Mole is signed "Steuben" in diamond point script on the base bottom.  This is one of several Steuben designs where the body acts as a magnifying glass for any base bottom wear, which is why a new condition scratch free example like this is prized.

Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903.  Renown as the world's foremost artisan glass house, Steuben glass was hand made by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY.  Steuben glass was frequently the United States’ gift of State to foreign dignitaries. Steuben marketed no “seconds," items that did not meet their exacting production standards were destroyed by being smashed in a bin. Steuben--a recognized luxury brand.  Since the glassworks closed in 2011 and was dismantled it has been increasingly difficult to find scratch free gift worthy examples of this art glass.
