This is Vintage Bobo Bwa Crocodile Mask from the Tribal People of Burkina Faso. This Crocodile mask is fearsome and worn on the top of head and the wearer's eyes are facing out of the mouth. The spirit that inhabits the shrine also is found in masks representing bush spirits. Animal shaped masks are their favored art form. The Crocodile is related to the water spirit, guarantor of fertility and prosperity. Geometric pattern creates an external rhythm which echoes the internal spiritual energy of the artwork.
