    Description

    This breast star is
a beautifully-crafted replica of the Prussian Royal
House Order of Hohenzollern Commander's Star with Swords is one of my best-selling medals.  It is easy to see why.
    The medal is an e
ight-rayed breast star complete with mounting pin and catch on the reverse. The width of the star is 80 mm, the weight is 72 grams.
The Star of the Grand Commander represents the highest category of the Hohenzollern House Order.  When awarded with swords, it ranks between the Pour le Mérite with Oak Leaves and the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross.  The award is the highest war decoration for field commanders. It was bestowed ten times during WWI, including Field Marshal von Hindenburg.  The last photo shows Hindenburg's three breast stars.
