    Description

This is a beautifully-detailed reproduction of the German
    Verwundetenabzeichen -
    wound badge - of WWI.
This is the gilt or 1st Class version of the badge (5 or more wounds or death).
The award was not established until March of 1918 (by Kaiser Wilhelm II), so few soldiers actually wore it during the First World War which ended in November, 1918.
Seller's Note: Please note that this is
    not
    a hollow-back badge.
