Description

Made in the USA.
One can sharpen the flint rock with the steel striker as shown in the directions which have been added since 2019. It can come in handy out in the bush if you wish to make the edges sharper for producing more sparks. A flint knapper will use a deer antler or a modern day billet but the option is now available using my steel striker.
I pack the tins so full of items that I put 3 manila rope pieces tied to the outside of the tin so one will have more nest material. I figure buyers will be happier with the completely filled tins as the nest material gets used up quickly, and the thick reusable waterproof plastic ziplock bag will keep the materials dry even if one adds more nest material inside the bag.
Use this matchless Flint and Fire Steel Fire Starter with Hinged Tin, Char Cloth, Tinder and Flint Rock to get that campfire or cooking fire started.
Great for Scouting and those Preppers whom want to be prepared for emergencies.
Fire Starting Kit contains;
***1 C-Shaped hardened steel sparking striker at 3 1/2 inches in length. I consider this a four finger striker.
*** At least five large pieces of pure black charred cloth made from 7 ounce denim.
***1 or 2 hard Texas chert flint rock. All depends what I can stuff into the tin or what is available.
***Three
pieces of Manila rope tinder only 2 shown, and several jute rope pieces approximately 1/4" diameter (not shown) for one to convert to several birds like nests.
***Directions on use and directions on how to make your own char cloth.
***1 hinged metal tin 3.75 inches X 2.5 inches
*** A  piece of birch bark (not shown). I use it to protect the char cloth but its intent for you would be to lay your nest into it to protect your hand some and then use it to intensify
the flame for your fire lay. Note on birch bark: It burns when damp because of its natural oils, but of course works much better dry.
*** All stored in a thick reusable 4 ply zip lock plastic bag.
I try to completely fill the tins and my customers usually get more rock or a little more rope.
