4 VINTAGE STEUBEN JADEITE & ALABASTERSHERBETS & UNDERPLATES

Steuben Glass Works was founded in 1903 by Frederick Carder & Thomas Hawkes in Corning, NY. Carder is responsible for designing most of the early colored glass made by Steuben. In 1918 the company was acquired by Corning Glass Works. After a change in management in 1932, Steuben concentrated on colorless glass. We believe these sherbets were produced during the Carder era at Steuben.
There are 4 low sherbets in the jadeite color with alabaster stems
(perhaps product #6523)
. The underplates
(product #2680)
are jadeite. As these items are all hand-blown glass, the colors and sizes vary slightly. There are polished pontils on the bottoms of both the sherbets and the plates. The sherbets measure about 3-3/4" in diameter at the top, 2-3/4" tall, 2-1/2" in diameter at the base. The underplates measure about 6-1/4" in diameter and are 1" high.
The sherbets and underplates are in very good condition with no chips, nicks, or cracks. There are very few scratches. I have included a few photos of small bubbles in the glass that are common in hand-blown glass. In the photo of the plates, the upper right plate is a slightly lighter shade of green. The upper left plate has a darker area of green in the center. These variations are also a result of being hand-blown.
Please review photos and ask any questions before bidding; I will be happy to answer them.
