This Shakuhachi was made from a piece of bamboo saved from an old Japanese house that was demolition in Saitama, Japan. It had been part of the kitchen ceiling for over 200 years. All the advanced fingerings work for all Honkyoku music and beyond. The person who saved the bamboo magically cut it at a perfect 2.4 length. The saw mark was quite beautiful so I just lacquered over it to preservation. The A pitch is A 440 for anyone who can play. A warm deep vibrant sound for beginners and the advanced. A versatile instrument for nearly any kind of playing - contemporary to meditation.
